This is a course for intermediate to advanced all-grain homebrewers looking for a simple method to dial in their water chemistry from hot liquor through mashing and sparging and into the boil kettle. No need to digest hundreds of pages of technical advice, navigate gigantic spreadsheets, or unravel the mysteries of residual alkalinity and German degrees of hardness! Let’s keep it simple and relax.
We’ll explain the method and conduct a mash and sparge during the class to illustrate the technique. We’ll start with reverse osmosis water and show how to build the ideal brewing water for any style from scratch.
