When will the grapes arrive?
Grapes are purchased at your own risk. There are no refunds. Due to the nature of grapes, date of delivery, fires, storms etc. by purchasing grapes through Oak Barrel you are assuming the risk that something might happen to put the grapes at risk or it might be inconvenient to pick them up - we can offer no refunds after deposits are received or after full payment has been received.
When will the grapes arrive?
Accurate arrival dates for wine grapes are impossible to predict. In a typical year, harvest begins in late-August and continues through the end of October. This year's harvest is looking like it will be typical, starting in late-August (White grapes) and ending in September to early-October (Red grapes).
What happens if you are not avaiable when the grapes come in?
If you are not available to pick up your grapes when they come in we suggest you arrange friends to pick them up, use a service like Task Rabbit or a Uber for transport. If you are out of town you can arrange with us to care for your fermenting grapes or juice for $25/day + yeast and additives you request. Service includes daily punchdowns, yeast and additive addition based on your instructions. Space is limited and so we do not guarantee we will have availability. We will not press your grapes. do not have temperture control available and will not be able to support more tricky requests such as dry ice etc.
We strongly suggest that you do not plan a vacation during the crush. November is a beautiful time to travel!
* Projected (Estimated Time of Arrival - ETA) arrival dates are subject to change until the actual harvest date is set. We always attempt to give buyers at least two to three days advanced notice of the arrival of their grapes. Confirmed, or "set" harvest dates will be designated by a parenthetical (s).
